The Police Authority discharges its functions through a number of Committees and Sub-Committees which are mainly divided into work streams e.g. Standards, Audit and Review, Community Engagement and Human Resources etc. Authority Members challenge and scrutinise the performance and actions of the Force through its Committee structure.

Dyfed-Powys Police Authority is supported by a small team of officers, headed by Chief Executive, Mr Keith Reeves, LLB (Hons) LLM.
Officers have their own specialist area, advising and supporting Members in such areas as community engagement, performance and complaints.
In addition, the Secretariat are responsible for the administration of all Authority meetings, Schemes and ensuring Members are fully up to date and briefed on any policies or changes either at a local, regional or national level.

As part of its monitoring role, the Police Authority operates two Volunteer Visitor Schemes. These are an Independent Custody Visiting Scheme and an Animal Welfare Scheme. To find out more about our volunteering schemes, click here.
