Dyfed Powys Police Authority recognises the need to work effectively in partnership to minimise duplication and maximise opportunities to ensure efficiency of approach. Its Strategic Plan 2011-14 clearly highlights the organisation’s aim:
To promote collaboration and partnership that extends and improves efficient service delivery.
This will involve continuing to influence the agenda of Police Authorities of Wales and working closely with Local Authorities and other partners to explore collaborative activity where possible. To view our Partnership Strategy, please click here
Police Authorities of Wales (PAW)
Dyfed Powys Police Authority works with the other three Police Authorities in Wales through the Police Authorities of Wales (PAW). PAW was first established in 1996 as a way for Authority Members to meet and discuss issues that affect the whole of Wales. In 2007, this was developed into a constitutional body with delegated powers of responsibility. To view the All-Wales Policing Plan 2011-14 click here.

Children & Young People Partnerships
Dyfed Powys Police Authority sits on the four Children and Young People’s Partnerships in the Dyfed-Powys area which allows it to help ensure that it meets its obligations under the Children Act 2004. As part of this, the Police Authority have worked with the Partnerships to drive forward the principles of Article 12 of the UN Convention of the Rights of the Child by taking steps to ensure that children and young people aged 0-25 have opportunities to contribute and to get involved in decision making on issues which affect them. In support of this, the Police Authority has developed a Children & Young People Participation Strategy. Click here for further information.
Community Safety Partnerships
Police Authorities are one of six ‘responsible’ authorities to sit on Community Safety Partnerships. As such, Dyfed Powys Police Authority sits on the four Community Safety Partnerships within the Dyfed Powys area and actively engages with its partners to ensure its responsibilities are discharged effectively.
