Latest crime and public confidence statistics published show Dyfed-Powys to be national leaders

The Dyfed-Powys Police area continues to be one of the safest places to live and work.  The latest crime figures published by the Home Office on the 20th January 2012 show crime rates in the Dyfed-Powys area are significantly lower than both the national average and the Welsh average.

Dyfed-Powys also ranked highest nationally for dealing with issues that matter to local people according to British Crime Survey figures.

Delyth Humfryes M.B.E Chair of the Police Authority said, “these results reflect the good relationship that police officers have with communities of the four counties it serves”.  She said “in times of economic hardship it is becoming more important for partner agencies to work together to deliver results for communities at a cheaper cost to the tax payer.

The Police Authority meet on a quarterly basis and closely scrutinise the results achieved within Dyfed-Powys on behalf of the community and it is pleasing to note that Dyfed-Powys are national leaders in a number of key areas.”
