Best Value
The Local Government Act 1999 requires the Police Authority to make sure that Dyfed Powys has an effective and efficient police service. The Government now requires us, rather than the Chief Constable, to review all aspects of the police service in our area.
The aim of this is to :
- Improve the quality of service;
- Make sure that the service is cost effective; and
- That it is provided efficiently.
Completed Reviews
The Best Value team has completed 21 Best Value Reviews since April 2000, with some 380 recommendations for improving the service having been accepted for implementation.
The Police Authority recently considered the way forward for securing continuous improvements within Dyfed-Powys Police Force and have decided to streamline the Best Value process and introduce an Implementation and Evaluation function. This will improve management by providing an effective performance management framework.
